The signing of the contract for Ferbane Fire Station
OFFALY County Council have awarded the tender for the construction of Ferbane Fire Station to Finna Construction Ltd.
The Fire Station will be connected to, and will occupy part of, the existing Ferbane Area Office located in Gallen, Ferbane. This link between the buildings will ensure the continued use of this important protected structure into the future.
The project is being funded by the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government and when completed will provide the necessary facilities that are essential for the crew of Ferbane Fire Brigade and for the community that they respond to.
These facilities will include; a dedicated training yard, training tower, lecture room, welfare facilities, fitness area and office space.
When completed and fully equipped, the station will also accommodate 1 no. Class B Fire Appliance, 1 no. Water Tanker, 1 no. 4WD Jeep
Finna Construction Ltd. is due on site in the coming weeks and it is envisaged that the station will be fully operational by year end.
