A LUCKY woman in Roscrea scooped €500,000 after she won the EuroMillions Plus top prize last week.

The local woman, who has chosen to keep her identity a secret, has worked in the same factory for the last 26 years and was accompanied to the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin by her son to collect her winnings.

The lucky winner said she plans to buy her first home and take a foreign Easter holiday with her partner.

‘Unbelievable! Just unbelievable! It will totally change my life', gushed the winner. 'I checked my ticket on the phone app on Wednesday and I got a chill right down my spine. I didn't know who to tell,' she said.

‘I've been a regular player of Lotto, EuroMillions and Telly Bingo for years. I even bought my ticket for Friday night's EuroMillions draw on the way up here in the car' she said.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at Mathew Keane's shop (M&F News) on Main Street in Roscrea.

The Roscrea winner said she will begin to tell close family and friends of her good fortune about her win in the coming weeks.
