Tipperary Water County Championship reaches knockout stage. thumbnail

The various draws for the preliminary round and quarter finals of the Dan Breen, Seamus O'Riain and Intermediate championships were made and are as follows.

Preliminary Round

Carrick Swans v Borris Ileigh to be played at Cashel next Sunday at 3.30pm

 

Quarter Finals

The four quarter finals will be played on weekend of the 17th of September with the champions Thurles Sarsfields to face Kilruane MacDonaghs.

 

The four quarter finals are

Thurles Sarsfields v Kilruane MacDonaghs.

Clonoulty Rossmore v Drom and Inch.

Loughmore Castleiney v Winners of Carrick Swans/Borris Ileigh.

Eire Og Anacarty v Mullinahone.

 

Seamus O'Riain Cup Quarter Finals

The four Seamus O'Riain Cup quarter finals will be played this Sunday.

MacDonagh Park, Nenagh will host two in the afternoon with Toomevara and Silvermines doing battle at 1.30pm followed by the clash of Roscrea v Templederry, throw in 3.30pm.

The other two quarter finals sees Lorrha take on J K Brackens at Cloughjordan, throw in 5.30 while Clonakenny face Holycross Ballycahill in The Ragg, throw in 5.30pm.

 

Senior Hurling Relegation

With Carrick Swans defeating Killenaule in the South senior hurling final last Saturday evening the number of teams taking part in the relegation to the Seamus O'Riain competition is down to three. It means that Kiladangan, Burgess and Ballina remain.

The three teams will contest the relegation in a league format with the bottom two teams relegated. Kiladangan take on Ballina this coming Sunday in Newport at 5.30pm. The three games will be played in the following sequence.

Round 1: Kiladangan v Ballina

Round 2: Ballina v Burgess

Round 3: Burgess v Kiladangan

 

Relegation to Intermediate Hurling

Meanwhile Borrisokane, Ballingarry, Moycarkey Borris and Knockavilla Kickams will contest the relegation battle to Intermediate level in a round robin format.

The first round games will be played on Sunday next with Borrisokane to face Moycarkey Borris in Toomevara and Knockavilla Kickams play Ballingarry in Cashel.

 

Intermediate Hurling

The six preliminary quarter finals are to be played by Wednesday the 13th September. Two North Tipp teams figure as Moneygall take on Kiladangan in Cloughjordan throw in 5.30pm

Ballinahinch v Cashel King Cormac's.

Drom and Inch v Gortnahoe Glengoole.

Kilsheelan Kilcash v Carrick Davins.

Moyne Templetuohy v Thurles Sarsfields.

Moyle Rovers v St Marys.

Moneygall v Kiladangan.

The quarter finals are to be played on the weekend of the 17th September.

Moyne Templetuohy/Thurles Sarsfields v Moneygall/Kiladangan.

Sean Treacys v Cappawhite.

Moyle Rovers/St Marys v Kilsheelan Kilcash/Carrick Davins.

Drom and Inch/Gortnahoe Glengoole v Ballinahinch/Cashel King Cormac's.

 

Intermediate Hurling Relegation

To commence this weekend. Roscrea applied to be relegated voluntary to junior and this was agreed by the county C.C.C.

In addition Cashel King Cormac's and Gortnahoe Glengoole both won their divisional championship. As a result just three teams remain to play in a league system with the bottom team relegated. The following was the draws.

Round 1 Boherlahan Dualla v Galtee Rovers.

Round 2 Galtee Rovers v Lattin Cullen Gaels.

Round 3 Lattin Cullen Gaels v Boherlahan Dualla.
