KIERAN Davern, Head Coach at SBG Tullamore, won gold at the weekend at the Polaris Pro Grappling Invitational which took place at the 02 London. 
Polaris Pro Grappling is the longest running large scale professional grappling event in the world. Davern took on the 2017 European Champion Llyod Cooper and beat the leg-lock specialist with a leg-lock after 3 minutes 20 seconds at Polaris 7 which took place in the 02 London at the weekend. Davern had over 30 people fly to London to support him at the 02. 
John Kavanagh, SBG Ireland, commented on the win: "Kieran Davern quickly establishing himself as Ireland's no 1 grappler today running through high international level competition. Another great display."
Kilcormac man, Kieran who has run SBG Tullamore since 2012, and a brown belt under John Kavanagh (Conor McGregor's coach) will be competing next in Liverpool at Grapplefest in September and plans to travel to Romania in October to compete in the ADCC Brazilian Jiu Jitsu trials.
