Lowry To Return Ahead Of Schedule

Thursday, 3 February 2011

SHANE Lowry at last received some good news last Thursday as scan results showed that his fractured wrist had fully heeled. The Esker Hills Clubman had thought he would have been out of action until the latter parts of March but he can now return to practice in three weeks time.
He is in the middle of a Physio programme and will definitely be back on the range and on the practice greens before the end of February. From there he plans an Irish assault on the Sicilian Open in Sicily, which starts on St.Patrick's Day the 17th March.
Lowry had been due to start his 2011 season in January in Abu Dhabi but an unfortunate fall over the Christmas meant a cast on his wrist put pay to those plans.
The Clara man said he "can't wait to get back on the range and get back in to the swing of things." In an interview early in the New Year Lowry insisted that 2011 could be a winning year for him and to win a tournament is a serious goal for 2011.
He has missed the game immensely over his lay off but has been working hard in the gym with Offaly footballer and fellow Clara man Joe Quinn. The hunger to get back out on course should be huge as 2011 gears up to be an important one for the now 20 month professional.
