Spartacus Boxing Club Host Successful Tournament thumbnailMembers and supporters from the Lithuania National Team who took part in the Boxing Tournament at Spartacus Boxing Club in Cloncollig over last weekend.

Spartacus Boxing Club in Cloncollig, Tullamore hosted a very successful Ireland versus Lithuania Boxing Tournament on Saturday last with a number of top class fights between local boxers and members of the Lithuania national boxing team.

Referee for the occasion was Paul Loonam from St. Carthage Boxing Club in Rahan, and one of the highlights of the event was an Exhibition fight between Spartacus Boxing Club's Grainne Walsh and European Youth Silver medallist, Cheyanne O' Neill from Athlone Boxing Club.

Both girls are in action in the Semi-finals of the Senior Elites at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday night next where they will be hoping to book their place in the finals the following weekend.

Grainne is currently ranked sixth in the World in her weight division (69kgs) in the latest AIBA World Rankings, having moved up from 11th place last year, and she is currently the U/22 National Champion at 69kg, while Cheyanne O' Neill holds the U/22 National title at 64kg.

The Exhibition fight between the two girls was a great opportunity for younger boxers to see two top-class boxers in action.

Dima Dmitruk thanked the many people who attended Saturday evening's event at the Spartacus Boxing Club and also paid tribute to the referee, boxers and coaches as well as the many supporters who came along to support the Boxing Tournament.
