ST Rynagh's native and Offaly star Siobhan Flannery has been selected as the WGPA player of the month for the month of May. One of the leading lights in Offaly Camoige, Flannery knocked off stiff compeition from Down's Niamh Mallon and Limerick's Niamh Mulcahy in the vote.
She has been in super form of late helping Offaly fend of Wexford and Kildare in the Leinster Senior championship before they fell agonisingly short in the final against Kilkenny two weeks ago.
She has dominated the Offaly scoring so far this year, standing out from play and from frees with her display in that Leinster final defeat to Kilkenny, in which she pucked ninepoints, made her still worthy of the player of the game award.
Flannery and Offaly now turn their attention to the All Ireland championship and they open their account on Saturday away to Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds at 2.30p.m.
Siobhan was selected by public vote on the Women's Gaelic Players Association (GPA) social media channels.
