Whelahan leads Nenagh Eire Og to North Tipp final thumbnailNenagh Eire Og are managed by former Offaly hurling manager Brian Whelahan.

OFFALY hurling legend and former Offaly senior hurling manager Brian Whelahan has guided Nenagh Eire Og back to their first North Tipp senior hurling final in three years.

Whelahan, who took over back in May, saw his troops get the better of reigning champions Kiladangan in the semi final last weekend on a scoreline of 0-19 to 0-15 and their win sets up a final with Borris-Ileigh who won the other semi final beating Templederry with two late goals to win 2-16 to 0-20.

Brendan Maher and Conor Kenny paved the way for Borris-Ileigh with 2-13 between them to set up a final with Whelahan's Nenagh Eire Og. Hugh Moloney led the Nenagh men from centre back while Michael Heffernan chipped in with an 0-11 haul.
