County Football Final day looms as Rhode look to make history
Thursday, 12 October 2017
SUNDAY will see County football final fever hit O'Connor Park with the Minor and Senior decider down for decision. Rhode and Clara will renew their rivalry in the senior decider with the Clara men looking to claim their first title since 2009 while Rhode will be looking to make it two in a row.
The Minor decider pits Ferbane/Belmont against Edenderry with both sides having only come through their semi finals last Wednesday.
All in all it promises to be an exciting and high quality day of football at headquarters with the minor throwing in at 1.45pm and the senior at 3.30pm.
Rhode are going for a record 28th Senior football title but Clara are a side that have been gradually improving all year. Not many would have tipped them at the beginning of the year and they have already suffered a 2-18 to 0-15 point defeat at the hands of Rhode during the group stage but write them off at your peril.
Edenderry are looking for their first Minor title in 10 years while Ferbane/Belmont are appearing in their fourth final in a row and looking for their third title in four years.
