TWELVE months on from capturing the All Ireland Club Poc Fada championship, the pairing of Conor Slevin and Cillian Kiely were back at it again at the weekend as they successfully defended their title in fine style in Kilmessan, Co Meath.
Slevin and Kiely will line out for K/K this Sunday when they take on Castletown/Geoghegan in the first round of the Leinster club senior hurling championship but they will go into it on the back of an All Ireland title for the club as the pair completed the course in an impressive 51 pucks.
The 5.1km challenge took in the Hill or Tara and included a track across fields, ditches and rivers before finishing back at Kilmessan.
The K/K pairing beat off some stiff competition including Birr duo Paul Cleary and Eoghan Cahill who finished four pucks further back on 55 and just missing out on third place by a matter of metres. Ballyboden St Enda's came second with the hosts Kilmessan back in third.
