Carrig Riverstown Killeen Drama Group will present two one act plays in Carrig Community Centre on Friday November 30, Saturday December 1 and Sunday December 2.
There will be 10 people involved on stage in these productions with a cast of five people in each play. Both plays are directed again this year by Brendan Hanamy, who is no stranger to the stage himself.
The two plays are ‘Babysitting Calvin’ and ‘Last of the last of the Mohicans’.
The first one act, ‘Babysitting Calvin’ was written by John H. Newmeir.
Baby Calvin can remember his previous life when he was happily married. When he reaches his first birthday or when he speaks, he will lose these memories. He is determined not to speak. His mum, Katie decides to have a night out. Things change dramatically when the babysitter arrives with her friend.
The second one act, written by Hugh Leonard, is ‘Last of the Last of the Mohicans’. This play tells the story of a night in the life of church furniture maker Dominic Studley. His wife Ita has departed on an overnight pilgrimage, which gives Dominic the opportunity to indulge in a little adultery with Grace. Grace is principal boy in the local panto. all goes well until . . . .
As with previous production directed by Brendan Hanamy, both plays promise to be full of laughter.
