Gardai in Birr are seeking information on a burglary at a domestic abode in Newtown, Shinrone in which two gold medals and a quantity of jewellery were stolen earlier this week.
The incident took place on Wednesday, November 21 last between 11am and 8pm. During the course of the burglary, a quantity of jewellery was stolen including two gold medals, both Tipperary senior hurling final for 1975 and 1976, bearing the inscription Seán Seosamh Comartuin and the year inscribed on the rear. Both medals are of sentimental value to the owner and are easily identifiable if anyone is shown the medals.
Gardai in Birr are appealing to the public if they saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, knows anything about this crime or may have information the stolen property to contact Birr Garda Station on 057 91 69710 or any Garda station.
