Leinster Scor na nOg titles for Offaly

The Leinster Final of Scor Na Nog was held in the National Opera House Wexford last Sunday.

Offaly had two representatives on the day Rince Forine and Ceol Uirlise, both from the Kilcormac-Killoughey Club. Both groups put in a huge performance on the day and were rewarded with Leinster titles in both competitions.

They now go on to represent Offaly in the All-Ireland Final on February 16 in the Royal Theatre in Castlebar Co. Mayo.

Rince Forine: Elaine Lynch, Caoime Quinn, Aideen Quinn, Ciara Kilmartin, Orla Kilmartin, Elizabeth Kilmartin, Roisin Monaghan, Ciara Barnatt-McCann

Ceol Urilise: Verona Lynch, Meibh Dooley, Naoise Dooley, Aoibhe Dooley, Aine Gleeson.

The County Final of Traith Na gCeistanna was held last Friday night in O'Connor Park Tullamore.

Eight clubs were represented on the night. After a very close competitive quiz, Raheen emerged victorious by one point with Tubber and Clara finishing joint 2nd.

The other clubs represented on the night were CRC Gaels, Shamrocks, Ferbane, Gracefield and Rhode. Thank to Liam Madden who set the questions and acted as Quiz Master on the night. The winning team now go on to represented Offaly in the All-Ireland Final on February 16, also in Castlebar.
